Sorry for the delay in posting, it's been really busy over here getting the
house ready!
Here are both of us
at a friend's wedding and relaxing
afterward.
Beth almost fits into one of my

New ultrasound pictures are here! The doctor and the ultrasound tech confirmed
that he is indeed a boy. Pictures 1-4 are looking directly at his face, his
head is tilted to the right. 5-7 are profile shots, and 8 is a graphical representation
of his heartbeat along with a map of bloodflow throughout his body.

She's eating normally now and has gained a little more weight.
- May 22, 2007
Here's Beth's week 22
pregnancy photograph. And here's another
one.
In case you're curious, this is the IV
bag that Beth had to lug around for 3 1/2 months.
She has finally managed to climb her way back to her pre-pregnancy weight!
She lost 14 pounds between January and March.
- May 4, 2007
Beth stopped all IV fluids and medicine yesterday. We tried flushing her PICC
line but there was a leak and it soaked the dressing. We ended up in the emergency
room and the doctor removed the line. Earlier than planned, but it was going
to be removed this Wednesday.
- April 26, 2007
We had our level II ultrasound today, they took over 80 ultrasound images
of the baby, though they only printed a few of them for us. It's a baby boy!
- His little foot.
- An excellent image of his head.
- The ultrasound tech said this
is proof that he's a boy. We can't see anything but that's why they
have experts.
- April 22, 2007
Bethy really looks pregnant now. Here she is in all her pregnant
glory!
She has been feeling much better lately, she's had several 2,000+ calorie
days in the last week.
Our level II ultrasound is happening this week and we should know the gender
of the baby then!
- April 16, 2007
Chris and Nikki visited yesterday and Beth and Nikki posed
for a photo.
- April 15, 2007
Sorry it too me so long to scan, here's our 15
1/2 week ultrasound. Beth has had a very good couple of days, she's broken
1,000 calories three days in a row now! She is definitely feeling the baby
kicking and moving. Not quite strong enough for me to feel it yet, but soon.
Our level II ultrasound is coming up at the end of the month so we should
know the gender then.
- April 12, 2007
Dr. Phil did
a story about an extreme case of hyperemesis. Hopefully this national
exposure will help people understand the severity of the problem.
- April 2, 2007
Beth was getting IV infusions of Zofran every 6 hours but it was not helping
at all. So we switched to a round-the-clock infusion. Of course, that means
its own pump and a y-site attached to her PICC line. So she has to walk around
with a whole extra mess of tubes hannging off her arm. It does appear to have
some effect, she has eaten a little bit more over the last week and has actually
gained a pound. Beth says she is sure that she is feeling the baby move around.
It's not a very strong feeling yet but she's sure it's the baby.
- March 18, 2007
Here is the third
ultrasound. We didn't get a length, but it has very obvious baby features.
It wasn't dancing like last time, but was still moving. I think it was just
chilling out.
- March 17, 2007
Beth was released today. We are trying home IV infusions of Zofran.
- March 16, 2007
Beth was admitted to the hospital today for severe nausea and vomiting.
- March 1, 2007
Beth has been battling hyperemesis gravidarum for the last 5 weeks - constant
nausea and vomiting due to pregnancy. She had lost 10 pounds before we switched
doctors. We'll post more on this later, but you can read all about it at the
Hyperemesis Foundation's
site.
- February 27, 2007
We had our second ultrasound today, the baby is now 10 weeks old and has a
heartbeat of 160. You can view the picture here.
The baby is 3cm long and it was dancing up a storm. Its arms were waving,
its legs were kicking, and its head was rockin' out! It's like the baby was
putting on a show for us.
- February 4, 2007
We had our first ultrasound today, the baby is only 7 weeks old but we could
see a beating heart! You can see the ultrasound picture here.
The baby is just over 1 centemeter long.
